Our Story

We have been using Rick Steves tour books for about 12 years and watching his PBS show for about 10 years.  During covid, we started watching the Monday Night Travel and we still watch it most weeks.  The style of Rick Steves tours suits our interests because they are is focused on the history, culture, art, and local connections, rather than luxury hotels and spas.  The idea of the smaller tour group was also appealing, since we have been on large bus tours with too many people to meet and too crowded.  Rick selects his tour guides for their knowledge and love of their countries, their passion for travel, and willingness to share with the guests.

Amy, with a vision as vast as the Irish seas and a spirit as free as the winds atop Cliffs of Moher, created this scrapbook in remembrance of our trip. But it wasn't just Amy's dream; it was a collective aspiration that soon saw Nate, Kevin, Nathan, Frances, and Dave weaving their own threads into this evolving tapestry.

You may also notice that throughout the website, a few of us are wearing a blue scarf with green, red, and yellow highlights. This scarf is the Donegal tartan, which is where Amy's great grandparents were born and raised. It is a simple nod to our heritage as we explore this wonderful land.
